The opening for Dan Da Dan anime officially surpassed 2 million views within the first 24 hours of its release on the official Crunchyroll YouTube channel, along with another 1 million on the official MBS Anime YouTube Channel. It reached number five on YouTube Trending in the US on Friday. Creepy Nuts performs the theme song “Otonoke,” marking another smash hit for the group. Fans can check out the opening below:

Dan Da Dan is animated by studio Science SARU and began airing on October 3. The season will have a total of 12 episodes across the course of the Fall 2024 season and is available on Netflix, Hulu, and Crunchyroll with new episodes releasing every Thursday.

Fuuga Yamashiro is the director of the Dan Da Dan anime series. He also directed and storyboarded the first episode as well. Hiroshi Seko is handling the script and series composition while Naoyuki Onda is in charge of the character designs. Kensuke Ushio is composing the music.

Shion Wakayama voices the main female protagonist Momo Ayase while Natsuki Hanae voices the main male protagonist Ken Okarun Takakura. Other cast members include Mayumi Tanaka (Luffy – One Piece) as Turbo-Granny and Kazuya Nakai (Zoro – One Piece) as Serpoian Alien.

Crunchyroll describes the anime as:
When high schooler Momo, from a family of spirit mediums, first meets her classmate Okarun, an occult geek, they argue—Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts. When it turns out both phenomena are real, Momo awakens a hidden power and Okarun gains the power of a curse. Together, they must challenge the paranormal forces threatening their world.

Dan Da Dan Manga

The Dan Da Dan anime series is based on the manga written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu. The series has been in serialization on Shonen Jump+ since 2021 and has since released 171 chapters and 16 volumes. VIZ Media is publishing the series in English.
