Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms anime revealed an updated visual and January 2025 release date, as well as a new cast addition. Hinaki Yano is joining the cast as Tomo Namba, and the character was also introduced in a short video. Studio SynergySP (Girlfriend, Girlfriend Season 2) is animating, with Yoshiaki Okumura as the director.
The main voice cast was previously announced with the first trailer, and it includes Ryota Iwasaki as Medaka Kuroiwa and Yu Serizawa as Mona Kawai. Sora Amamiya recently joined as Asahi Shonan, while Kana Hanazawa voices Tsubomi Haruno. You can see all the female characters in the updated visual below.
Besides the director Yoshiaki Okumura, the main staff for the Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms anime includes Kazuyuki Fudeyasu in charge of the series composition and script, Mayumi Watanabe as the character designer, Akiyuki Tateyama as the music composer, and Masakazu Miyake as the art director.
Ran Kuze writes and draws the Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms manga. It originally started as a one-shot published in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in December 2020, while it was serialized in the same magazine in May 2021. Kodansha USA is publishing the manga in English.
The story follows the cutest girl in her school, Mona Kowai, as she encounters a new transfer student, Medaka Kuroiwa. Medaka is the only one who isn’t affected by her charm (explaining the title), and she now does everything to win him over and dominate the school. However, she ends up slowly falling for him as he proves resiliant.
